What pops into your head when you hear or see the word “beauty”?

This word comprises many attributes but is usually associated with a select few. Whether we care to admit it or not we’re all superficial to some degree, and have been programmed to recognise what is deemed to be the ‘acceptable face of beauty.’

In this section of the blog, I’m exploring the beauty legacy / beauty crush on those of African descent /black beauty / brown beauty – juxtaposed to the mainstream. The story wouldn’t be complete otherwise…
